Revelation2 rev.1.2 by DijiMoto Revelation2 rev.1.2 by DijiMoto
Revelation2 is an extremely minimalistic suite that includes many popular features. (Current Version - 1.2)

Revelation2 Includes:

Launcher Bar - Various buttons for launching commands and shortcuts to folders and applications. Functions like Power down, Lock computer, Configuration options, Desktop Panel, Control Panel, Task Manager and more. Search google from your desktop in the provided search box. Launcher Bar is tabbed, to Hide almost completely when not in use and open up as needed.

Header skin - Various buttons for launching pop-out skins, including Notes, Music Player, Weather, System, RSS, Gmail, Facebook, Slideshow and Clock. Header bar docks right under Launcher bar. Toggle feature to remove it to a tab on the desktop, just like the Launcher Bar.

That's about it... all the functioning skins are built into two actual files, and use hides/shows to switch them out. The code itself should be easy to read... I habitually keep code as organized as possible, so it might be a good suite for beginners to research and parse.

1.2 : March 12, 2012 (Uninstall Revelation2 before updating!)

- Added support for different monitor sizes (fixed wonky Google Search issue).
- Changed Launcher shortcuts to "Toggle" the menu that opens. Left click to open, click again to close. (Thanks chefboy!)
- Changed around the Launcher Icons, added Tooltips, added Configure.ini button.
- Added Configure.ini : A very basic configuration skin, allowing choice of light or dark skins and providing a link to the UserVariables.inc and Rainmeter resources.
- Changed RSS Feed, now it only supports 3 Feeds, but it looks cleaner and is more compatible with differently sized monitors.
- Changed Header icon bar, to include Toggle feature. Left click open, click again to close.
- Changed some Icons in the Header Sidebar, RSS - Gmail - Facebook. Looks a little cleaner.
- Added Top Process to System Info Sidebar skin, in Header.
- Other various improvements, including a lot of code clean-up and changes to the sidebar font styling.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! And visit us at: [link] (JoBu)

Cheers all!

Hey Diji, I'm curious on how to adjust the launchers at the top. Since I have a rather large screen it leans a bit more to the left and isn't quite in the center. Would it be possible to make a sixth bar to move it more to the right or move the whole thing all together?

Hey, sorry for delays, I was backpacking in Tibet.

So... what's you're screen size (resolution)? I think your best bet is just increasing the size of the launcher bar... unless you don't want it all the way across the top, in which case you can have it centered on the screen by adjusting the x-axis position.

My main monitor is 1920x1080, my secondary is 1600x900. Looks like this.

The red circle is a little something I noticed. The launcher slightly goes into the second screen.  (Not the main thing I was focusing on though.)

The main thing is that it's slightly to the right, I'll trying adjust the x-axis position though.

one of my all time favorites. feature set is balanced and the design augments the desktop instead of overpowering or obscuring the desktop

A really wonderful skin but I have problems with getting the weather to work. Can you help me? Even by changing the weather code, location and unit, nothing is appearing in the weather section

To modify Rev2 so that it is always open (to disable the tabs):

Load the Launcher and edit the code as follows:

1. Delete TABTOGGLEOUT
2. Delete TABTOGGLEIN
3. Remove "Hidden=1" from 'MeterBGShow' - also, change "X=10" to 'X=0'.
4. In [ SYSTRAY ICONS ] section, remove "Hidden=1" from all Meters EXCEPT the '[Back*]' Meters.
5. in [MENU ITEMS] sections, remove "Hidden=1" from all [*-TEXT] Meters. Should be the first Meter in each group. (Web, Data, etc.)
6. In [GOOGLE SEARCH] section, remove "Hidden=1" from all meters.

Save/Refresh All.

Let me know if there are additional problems. You should be able to follow a similar path to change the Header bar as well, if you like. Cheers all.

Hi, I love the style and goes perfect with my current settings... however, I can't get the launcher and the header to appear on the screen. The variables skin shows up OK... but I really don't need that... The header and launcher appear as loaded in the rainmeter manager, but just don't pop on my screen. Is there any variable/setting to fiddle with in the ini files? I'd love to get this skin working. Cheers

This is a common question... usually it's because upon loading the skins are "minimized". Look for a little vertical white line on the top right corner of your screen. Clicking those tabs will extend the Launcher and Header Bar out to full size. I'm working on a fix that will default to maximized rather than minimized on load/refresh. Hope that helps!

Thank you for your response :-) I actually found it, it was well hidden in some part of the designs in my wall paper that incidentally were very similar in shape and color. Having it start open by default may be a good idea! By the way, this skin is by far my favorite, so much that, being an absolute newbie with rainmeter, I've already modified some parts of it! For example, I changed the rectangular "variables" skin to work as a launcher for my favorite applications, not that I don't like your launcher, I do, very much, but I place it on my second monitor, while my... errr... your modified "launcher" goes perfect with my setup on the main screen! Now that we're here, if you don't mind, can you tell me if there's an easy way to change the weather service in the header? Yahoo seems to be always way off in the conditions for my town, so I rather use weather.com... I did try to change it but I read somewhere that it may take a bit more than just changing the url and location code, is that true? Does it really take a major change in the code? Last but not least, is there an easy way to change the "logoff" button function for "restart"? I rarely logoff but frequently restart the computer so is more useful. Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate your work!

I think you can use "shutdown -r" for restart. For the weather code, you'll need to find a RegEx (regular expression - string of code) that will parse the weather.com site properly. I'll look around for it too, but if you have a skin that uses the site already, you should be able to find it. Hope that helps :) Thanks for the kind words too, very glad you like the skins! Cheers!
